Homeownership Counseling ServicesCounseling is offered at no charge regardless of income. Our trained and experienced counselors can review your household's financial situation and make recommendations to help you prepare for homeownership. For example, you may need to work on paying down debts, address issues within your credit report and/or increase your savings. During a session with a counselor terms like down payment, closing cost, first mortgage, PITI, points, and walk you through of the home purchasing process is explained. You can also find out what price of home, condominium, or co-op you can afford to purchase. Homeownership counseling will be conducted either as individual sessions, in a group, or both.
