Westchester Residential Opportunities, Inc. Launches

New Financial Education Initiative to Help Immigrants Achieve Long-term Financial Success

WHITE PLAINS- Westchester Residential Opportunities, Inc. (WRO) has recently launched a new financial education program, YourBankingCounts™, for unbanked consumers, especially immigrants whose lack of knowledge of access to traditional banking and financial services may hamper their financial success and their ability to fully integrate into their new communities.

YourBankingCounts, is made possible by a grant from HSBC-North America, one of the top ten financial services companies in the US. Through this program, WRO will reach out to the community with timely and appropriate information on how to utilize the various products and services offered by financial institutions to meet immigrants’ financial needs.

“We are pleased to be a partner in this initiative, being engineered by HSBC, to educate new immigrants about the resources and tools available to them, as they seek to achieve the American dream,” says Geoffrey Anderson, WRO’s Executive Director.

WRO is one of the nine community organizations in the country, which have been chosen by HSBC-North America as partners in this initiative. The program is the newest addition to HSBC’s YourMoneyCounts® family of financial education programs. For more information and free resources, check yourmoneycounts.com.

“We are very pleased to join with WRO in launching this important financial education initiative,” says Loretta Abrams, vice president of Consumer Affairs for HSBC-North America. “We hope this program, which is specifically designed to address the unique concerns of various communities, can help consumers improve their economic circumstances and reach their long-term financial success.
